Michael joined Collins House as a Director in April 2025, bringing over three decades of expertise in financial markets and investment management. His career has covered and bridged the main asset classes of equities and fixed interest, rising to leadership roles at Arculus Funds Management, Evans and Partners, Goldman Sachs JBWere and HSBC Securities Australia. Michael began his career as an equity derivatives analyst, moving over time to the fixed interest markets, especially after the GFC, to manage fixed interest portfolios, structure debt capital raisings, and provide strategic market insights. His deep knowledge of equity-related derivatives, bonds, and hybrid securities was further exhibited in senior roles at Goldman Sachs JBWere, where apart from consistently being a top-rated analyst in these categories, he engineered and priced structured financial products for institutional clients. As Head of Fixed Interest at Evans and Partners, he established and led the department, overseeing portfolios totalling over $300 million, as well as building an Institutional fixed interest sales team.
Michael’s strong academic foundation includes a PhD in Science from Monash University, a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Melbourne plus financial certifications from various Industry bodies. His expertise extends beyond security analysis and portfolio management, having served on investment committees for organisations such as the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, Caulfield Grammar and Frais Capital. At Collins House, Michael applies his extensive financial knowledge and strategic leadership to drive investment strategies, manage various on-line portfolios, and contribute to the firm’s continued success in delivering high-quality financial services.
